Hornitos Tequila

Several years ago while touring the sierra madre of northern mexico I was introduced to Hornitos Brand Tequila (100% puro Agave sauza).

Out of the 500 or so name brands of tequila in Mexico it is now the ONLY one that I drink. The word “Hornito” translates to Little oven in English but this tequila has a smooth flavor and needs no chaser.

I have used this tequila for everything from Drinking(of course) to cleaning wounds to burning it as fuel in my Swedish trangia alcohol stove.

Keep in mind that some folks are allergic to the Agave plant which ALL tequila is distilled from, it can cause a poison ivy type rash which could be very uncomfortable.
A good rule of thumb is if you suffer from a major hangover after a night of drinking tequila you are probably allergic to the Agave and its products.

Years ago it was clear in color as opposed to the piss yellow that it is now. It was also “mellower” (is that a word?). I bought my first bottle about 30 years ago in a Stater Bros. supermarket in KaliFornia, cause even at that tender age I knew Jose Cuervo was nothing but bottled kerosene sold to unsuspecting gringos as high class ta-kill-ya.
