Located in one of Jakarta’s swanker shopping malls and (oddly) above a bowling alley and pool hall is one of Jakarta’s best bar/lounges, the Mojito Lounge. The Mojito Lounge is a small lounge and bar with a great selection of cigars, comfortable couches and a wile menu of different types of Mojito’s (hence the name).
The first time I went to the Mojito Lounge I was invited by a local lady friend because she knew I liked smoking cigars. At first I was like “you want to hang out at a bar in a shopping mall?” but I figured why not go ahead and check it out.
The first thing I noticed when I walked in was ten drop-dead beautiful Indonesian girls all wearing white dresses sitting around.
“I like this place already” I thought – the girls are actually hostesses that sit, chat and drink with you. The official name of these girls are “GRO’s” or Guest Relations Officers (just a fancy name for “Hot + Friendly + sit with you”). They all speak great English, are mostly from middle class families and are smoking hot.
After we sat down in one of the fat couches I noticed the cigar room to the left so I walked in to check out the selection. One of the managers showed me around and explained the different types of cigars the had (I already knew that stuff but I humored him anyway cuz I like the VIP treatment).
I chose a Cohíba Siglo II – a very cute waitress brought it to my sofa, asked what sort of cut I would like, cut and lit it up with a king sized crack pipe torch.
I tell ya - Something about a beautiful woman that knows how to prep and light a Cubin cigar does it for me.
My lady friend and I ordered a couple of Mojito’s (me original, her mango) and chatted for a wile. After about 15 minutes the three or four groups of GRO’s started stopping by our couch to say hello and introduce themselves (they are required to do that). I thought one group of three was especially cute and friendly so I invited them to join us.
Now this is not like most hostesses bars, meaning you can’t grope the girls or take them out. They are just there for company, conversation and to look really hot. Now, they are nice and if you have some game and come there regularly you can pull a few numbers and invite them out just like any other girl you would meet.
At around 11PM they started to play some dance music, ok I thought, dance music in a lounge, whatever – this is Jakarta so anything goes.
But the dance music wasn’t for so the customers could dance – it was for the Sexy Dancers Show. Most big clubs in Jakarta have Sexy Dancer Shows (sort of like coyote dancers in Bangkok), but is sort of surprised me that a small lounge in a high class shopping mall would have them. But I sure wasn’t complaining…
Two cute girls came out wearing lingerie and started dancing sexy for a few songs, nothing really spectacular but they were pretty sexy and it was a pleasant surprise. About 30 minutes later they came out again for another set – this is where it got interesting, off went the bras, and dancing for a few more songs. And about 30 minutes later, buck naked show and lap dances for the customers.
So if you like cigars, fine booze, beautiful women and sexy dancers Mojito’s is the spot to be on the weekend.
*Note: I am not sure if they do the sexy shows anymore, I have heard that some clubs have stopped the sexy shows because of some new laws. will have to do an update.

I forgot to put prices – expect to spend around 300 bucks for 2 people plus buying drinks for the GRO’s
You are expected to buy drinks for the GRO’s when they sit with you, you are not charged for their company.
Update: I went to Mojito’s last week with Anthony Otomo - Due to the new anti-smut law Mojito’s has stopped the sexy dancer show on the weekends, they also don’t have the hostesses anymore.
Its still a great place to hang out and have a few cigars and drinks or take a date to. So it is still on the “go” list here at Expat Rockstar
